On October 20th, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations and Chairman of the Ban Ki-moon Foundation, visited Wuhu, China, to participate in Chery’s large-scale RIDE GREEN LIFE, which drew thousands of participants. During the event, Mr. Ban arrived at the venue in a Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV, praising its innovative practices in the field of new energy vehicles. He highlighted that the green cycling event is significant for promoting the concept of sustainable development and enhancing public awareness of environmental protection. Furthermore, he called for global cooperation to advance the green transition and achieve a low-carbon future.

Spanning a record-setting 122 hours from August 15th to August 20th, 2023, the summit has set unparalleled milestones in global collaboration and empowerment, leaving an indelible mark on the world stage.

The summit, organized by Connecting Dreams Foundation under the G20 Presidency of India and in partnership with Civil 20 and Youth 20 engagement groups, brought together participants from an astonishing 137 countries. The digital gathering featured over 760 luminous speakers including stalwarts like Ah Maftuchan, C20 Sherpa Indonesia; Athayde Motta from Brazil; Ela Ionescu of UN Women; Fiona Mcrath from Bezos Earth Fund; Padma Shri Manjamma Jogathiand and the Padmavibhushan Sh Dr. D V Veerendra Hegde from Dharmasthala, among many others.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, announced one of his most ambitious futuristic development master plans for Palm Jebel Ali on May 31, 2023.

Projected to be twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali is a mega project and a part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

Spearheaded by leading developer Nakheel from the UAE, Palm Jebel Ali is a series of visionary projects incorporating 80 hotels and resorts, green landscaping, and other leisure and retail amenities across 13.4 square kilometers.

The development project will raise the global benchmark in waterfront, adding about 110 km of coastline to Dubai and offering beachside living to 3500 families. Palm Jebel Ali will offer a luxury lifestyle and world-class amenities for residents and tourists, thereby boosting tourism in Dubai.

Besides, the project will endorse the objective of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 to consolidate Dubai’s status as the world’s top city for business and tourism. The visionary scheme aims to become an aspirational destination for the elite to live and explore. This groundbreaking project also marks the beginning of a new growth corridor in Jebel Ali.

Record-breaking gas production achieved by ONGC Tripura Asset

The ONGC Tripura Asset has broken all previous records by producing the highest-ever annual gas production of 1,675 Million Standard Cubic Metres (MMSCM) in the northeastern state for the 2022-23 financial year, according to a senior official’s announcement on Friday.

Despite the inherent risks and uncertainties associated with oil and gas exploration, ONGC’s Tripura Asset has succeeded in achieving this feat. The official credited the success to several operational initiatives implemented in recent years, such as the installation of plunger lifts, mobile separators, and regular activation of low-pressure wells.

In addition, to overcome the logistical and geological challenges of the region, ONGC has commissioned an Aerial Hydrocarbon Survey to map remote locations and advanced hi-tech drilling rigs to drill deeper and more accurate wells in difficult terrain.

Despite the remoteness of the fields and high decline rates, ONGC Tripura Asset has registered a 3% production growth in the last six years. Furthermore, the Asset has breached the coveted operational benchmark of 5 MMSCMD 49 times in FY’2022-23.

The ONGC Tripura Asset has also held regular interactions with its gas customers – OTPC, TSECL, GAIL, TNGCL – as well as regulatory agencies to plan power plants’ maintenance shutdowns more effectively. This has resulted in a significant reduction in consumer shutdown loss from 201 MMSCM in FY 2021-22 to 92 MMSCM in FY 2022-23.
